Planning Your Marketing & Communications Project
Who is your primary audience? What is this piece for, and who will it speak to?
These are some considerations to keep in mind while planning for a printed piece, and here are more:
What should this piece accomplish for your organization? For example: increase participation or membership; drive people to your website; share news or knowledge about your product or value proposition. What do you want readers to do after seeing this piece? For example: share with others, join CREA.
To best accomplish your goals, the message needs to be clear and concise. What is your principle message you want this piece to convey?
How will this piece be distributed? For example: by post mail, by hand, by email.
When do you need to have the pieces in hand? Print pieces generally take a minimum of 8-12 weeks to produce.
To get the best prices on printing, please plan to use the piece for two years. How many will you need in that time frame?
What is your budget? How much do you want to spend?
Please provide a sample of the type of piece you want. Consider the paper, the shine, the folding, and the size.
Please provide high-resolution photography if you have it. Or provide examples of the type of photography you would like to have. The Communications team has some stock photography, but if we need to set up a custom photo shoot, the unit will cover the cost of the photography.
