Counseling Center

  • Current clients who have an upcoming individual appointment, should receive email communication from their counselor with instructions. If a student has not heard from the counselor, please email the counselor directly or call 217-333-3704.
  • Students who have United Healthcare through the university may access online counseling via http://telehelp4students.com. If you access this site through your UnitedHealthcare app, you can bypass the necessary insurance information requirement. If you need help, contact customer service at 217-333-0165 or email insure@illinois.edu.
  • Students who are not current clients, may speak with a Counseling Center clinician by calling 217-333-3704 to set up a phone consultation. The Center no longer allows unplanned drop-ins.
  • If a student is experiencing a psychological emergency, call a 24-hour Crisis Line at 217-359-4141 or 911.

McKinley Health Center

Effective March 17, 2020 McKinley Health Center will only see patients by scheduled appointment through the remainder of the spring semester. Walk in appointments will not be taken and online scheduling has been suspended. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, McKinley will also discourage non-essential appointments within the building and better leverage our technology for telephone and telehealth visits. Appointments can be made by calling 217-333-2700. Individuals without an appointment will not be allowed into patient care areas at this time. Students present in the building should provide for social distancing spaces between themselves and other individuals. Cash and credit card payments at McKinley are also temporarily suspended as a safety measure. All Pharmacy and other charges will be placed onto student accounts. McKinley is developing phone and telehealth appointment options. Due to staffing and scheduling nuances, we cannot guarantee appointments can always be with your preferred caregiver, but we will try to accommodate your request.
