Subscribing to funder and organizational listservs is a good way to stay abreast of both recurring funding competitions and special opportunities.


This Week in Illinois Research from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation (OVCRI) highlights significant research developments on campus and on the national landscape, and shares campus upcoming events of interest to the research community.

OVCRI Weekly Email. The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation (OVCRI) Funding and Opportunities sends out a weekly roundup of research funding.

Limited Submission Mailing List.  Biweekly announcement from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation (OVCRI) listing limited submission funding opportunities. Limited Submissions are those on which funders limit the number of proposals that one institution is permitted to submit. The OVCRI performs a "downselect" review process among internal brief proposals to decide which should be fully developed and submitted to the funder.

CSBS Community Mailing List. The Center for Social and Behavioral Science (CSBS) explores how to facilitate large-scale, interdisciplinary research projects that leverage campus social and behavioral sciences expertise and support the next generation of researchers in the field.

IHSI Mailing List. Newsletter from the Interdisciplinary Health Sciences Institute, which accelerates health research and innovation, realizing the university's commitment to health and well-being, which transcends any one department, college, or institute. IHSI collaborates with campus units and external partners to advance the health sciences, providing infrastructure, develop education and training programs, and launch strategic initiatives that ultimately improve the health of our local, national, and global communities.

Sign up to receive a customized Data Feed of funding relevant to your interests. Subscriptions covers all federal agencies that receive proposal submissions through the portal. Customizable email notifications, notifications on specific opportunities, and a newsletter are offered.

National Science Foundation

STELAR Mailing List. The STEM Learning and Research Center (STELAR) is led by Education Development Center, Inc. (EDC).  EDC’s mission is to design, implement, and evaluate programs to improve education, health, and economic opportunity worldwide. The mission of STELAR is to build capacity and magnify the results of NSF ITEST projects to deepen the impact of the ITEST program. 

CIRCL Expert Exchanges, from the Center for Innovative Research in Cyberlearning. CIRCL works with projects in the emerging field of cyberlearning to support, synergize, and amplify their efforts. It invites researchers to sign up for one of three Expert Exchanges in one of three CIRCLS Communities: CIRCLS Emerging Scholars, Educator CIRCLS, and CIRCLS AI Working Groups.

CADRE Newsletter. Network for STEM education researchers funded by the NSF's Discovery Research PreK-12 (DRK-12) Science Foundation's Discovery Research PreK-12 (DRK-12) program. Through in-person meetings, a web site, common interest groups, newsletters, and more, CADRE connects these researchers who are endeavoring to improve education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics in, and outside of, our schools.

US Department of Education

IES News Flash. The Institute for Education Sciences (IES), research arm of the US Department of Education offers an e-mail-based alert service is designed to inform you about all new content posted to the IES website, including news from its four Centers and programs within Centers such as the Regional Educational Laboratory Program. Configurable by areas of interest.
